7-day Road Trip. Mountains, Orange City and Rose Valley

Mountains changing across miles, gorges and the largest waterfall in Morocco. Primordial nature touched delicately by human hand. Rocky steppes bathed in orange sunset hues. The Rose Valley, a sudden oasis amidst the lifeless space.

DAY 1
Arrival at Marrakech airport – transfer to Ouzoud, to the largest waterfall in Morocco.

  • We drive along a beautiful, slightly winding road surrounded by fields and bright greenery.

  • Accommodation at the hotel – Hotel Borj Cascafes. Free time that you can spend on the terrace with the best view of the waterfall or by one of the two pools.

DAY 2
Transfer to the reservoir.

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • A two-hour tour with an English-speaking guide, during which we will walk around the waterfall, see the caves and feed the monkeys.

  • Then we will try a real Moroccan kebab and hit the road to the Bin el Ouidane reservoir, formed by a huge dam built by engineer André Koine.

  • Accommodation at the hotel – Widiane Suites & SPA Free time: swimming in the pool, enjoying the magnificent views of the lake.

  • Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3
Transfer to Demnat

  • Breakfast in the hotel. Free time that can be spent usefully: go fishing or rafting (additional charge). You can just walk to the lake, ride a boat on it (additional charge) or swim in the pool.

  • Departure along the mountain road towards the town of Demnat. Almost next to it there is a majestic cave - Iminifri Natural Bridge - a natural wash in the rocks has formed an amazing canyon worthy of visiting by enthusiastic travelers.

  • Just below the exit from the cave are natural salt baths, just right for refreshing yourself after climbing.

  • Here, at the grotto, we dine with a traditional Moroccan kebab, if we're lucky, then lamb, and set off for Demnat, the oldest city in the south of Morocco.

  • Check in at the hotel - Kasbah Ait Oumghar.

  • Dinner at the hotel.

    DAY 4
    Transfer to Ouarzazate

  • The road to Ouarzazate passes through the most beautiful spurs of the High Atlas. You will see brutal, almost black, rocks completely free from vegetation, which immediately, after the nearest turn of the serpentine, are replaced by terrace-like multi-colored gentle slopes, on which local residents grow all kinds of agricultural crops. Another couple of kilometers and the mountains turn red. Literally ten kilometers before the goal of our today's trip, we will see completely orange hills around us and we will wonder: did the sun paint them in such a “savannah” color, or a sandstorm begins, or simply they contain a lot of orange-pink minerals.

  • We will have lunch in a cozy restaurant right on the track, and dinner will be waiting for us at the hotel.

  • We will spend the next two nights here - Hotel Sultana Royal Golf European service, a decent menu, a golf course, almost a sports pool, baths in the rooms. And all this with a view of the Ouarzaz lake and wild African reliefs.

  • Dinner at the hotel according to the menu (not included in the tour price).

    DAY 5
    Rose Valley

  • Just seventy kilometers from the rocky plain, where we descended yesterday from the High Atlas, is the town of Kelaa Mguna, famous throughout the world for the production of rose oil from the damask rose grown in the surrounding fields. After the cosmic landscapes that will accompany us all the way to the Valley of the Roses, the freshness and greenery of the rose plantations are a delight to the eye.

  • We will learn how rose water and rose oil are made from rose flowers, how much it costs, and we will even be able to try the entire line of local cosmetic products, and, if desired, buy some of the skin and hair care products.

  • Further our path lies in the museum of Ouarzazate. In the kasbah (fortress) usual for these places, household items and cult of local Berbers are presented. The museum guide will be happy to tell you about the customs, traditions and beliefs of his people.

  • Then at lunch, right in the museum, we will watch a folk dance show.

  • After returning to the hotel, free time

  • Dinner at the hotel according to the menu (not included in the tour price).

    DAY 6
Fint oasis, Atlas film studio, Kingdom of Heaven movie set

  • Breakfast in the hotel.

  • To be in a desert, even a rocky one, and not see an oasis seems wrong to us. Moreover, having traveled along the roads of Morocco, you will understand what mirages are. And yes, they don't just spawn in the desert. Sometimes on the mountain road ahead you can surely see water, a lot of water, although there is only serpentine asphalt.

  • Today we are going to the Fint oasis. Surrounded by bizarre rocks, a small piece of land is rich in water. The river is full of fish, under the canopy of palm trees growing potatoes interspersed with apricots. And the remains of the old village will delight lovers of ghosts and old ruins.

  • The tour of the oasis will take about two hours, after which we will literally dive into the world of cinema, having a snack and a cup of coffee on the way to the Atlas Film Studio, Kingdom of Heaven, CLA Studios.

  • Scenery for world-famous films, the present, past and future of cinema, the subtleties of camera work and much more, which can hardly leave anyone indifferent.

  • Dinner at the hotel according to the menu (not included in the tour price).

  • Free time.
